To Don or Not to Don

$850.00

I worked on this mixed media piece in 2020 at the beginning of the COVID pandemic. I tried to instill a bit of humor in this artwork to relieve the uncertainty of the period. The first layer used newspaper articles of that time and can be clearly seen poking through. Images of robots, animals, and cartoon characters, as well as photographs of humans from different cultures were then adorned with hand-painted masks and buffs. Splashes of color were added using acrylic washes and inks. The subject matter is continued onto the sides of the deep canvas, giving interest to all angles of view. It is framed in a black illusion floater frame.

Framed Dimensions: 22.5”W x 18” H
